Hanssem to Expand Finished-Window Production Value by Up to 2.5 Times Annually
Automated equipment to be introduced at four partner companies by early next year
Hanssem Co., Ltd. (Chairman and CEO Kang Seung-soo), a comprehensive home interior specialist, announced that it will introduce automated equipment at a total of four window manufacturing partner companies by early next year, expanding its maximum annual finished-window production value to approximately KRW 200 billion on a sales basis—an increase of more than 2.5 times.
As the remodeling market has grown rapidly in recent years, Hanssem introduced the automated equipment to promote shared growth with its window manufacturing partners and to supply high-quality windows in a stable manner.
Since this past April, Hanssem has carried out the installation of automated equipment and quality testing at two window manufacturing partners located in the Seoul metropolitan area, and has now begun full-scale plant operations.
These plants produce Hanssem's new window product, ‘Euro 700.’ By automating the cutting, processing, and assembly of PVC profiles—processes that were previously performed by hand—productivity is expected to improve by up to 50% or more.
The finishing quality of the windows will also improve significantly. Through the automated process, the gap at the corner joints of materials such as window sashes and frames is reduced to approximately 0.12 mm—one-third of the previous level. Compared with ordinary windows, the exposure of seam lines at corner joints is minimized, resulting in a higher level of finish.
In addition to the two window manufacturing partners in the metropolitan area that have begun full-scale operations, Hanssem plans to introduce automated equipment at one additional partner in the Yeongnam region and one in the Honam region by early next year. The total investment is around KRW 6 billion, and the maximum annual production value will expand by more than 2.5 times to approximately KRW 200 billion on a sales basis.
Along with the introduction of automated equipment, Hanssem will also launch a ‘10-Year Window Quality Warranty’ starting this month. The aim is to delight customers by warranting the PVC frame of the windows for up to 10 years, hardware such as handles and locks for 5 years, and auxiliary materials for up to 2 years.
Meanwhile, Hanssem windows are characterized by being shipped as ‘finished windows,’ in which the profile, glass, and hardware are combined at a single factory, and by offering one-stop service covering consultation, installation, and after-sales service. The manufacturing and distribution structure has been simplified to enhance the satisfaction of package remodeling customers.
Hanssem is also the first in the industry to introduce 26 mm wide double-pane glass that improves heating and cooling efficiency, and differentiates its quality by using premium system-window materials such as ‘gasket’ and ‘glazing tape.’
Ahn Heung-guk, President of Hanssem's Rehaus Business Division, said, “We are focusing on innovating the quality and services of our furniture and building-material items to provide differentiated home interior package products that reflect customers' lifestyles,” adding, “By building automated production lines, we will not only pursue shared growth with small and medium-sized manufacturers but also offer high-quality windows at reasonable prices.”
