Launches the ‘Home & Meal’ Project

The ‘Providing a Home and a Meal’ project (hereinafter ‘Home & Meal’) is being launched for young people facing anxiety about an uncertain future and the difficulties of housing. Promoted by LH Housing Welfare Information to explore ways for the younger generation in their 20s and 30s to regain hope of owning their own home over the long term, this project aims to identify and disseminate housing information tailored to each individual’s life cycle.

The Home & Meal project presents a blueprint to help young people in various circumstances easily understand information on national housing policies and make use of it at the right time according to their needs. As its first activity, through ‘on-site consultations that come to you’ in partnership with youth-related organizations and local governments, as well as ‘communication activities via social networking services (SNS),’ the project identifies the information young people actually need and shares it through various forms of collaboration.

The on-site consultations that come to you are staffed by employees who currently provide professional housing consultations. Based on public housing information supplied by the Korea Land & Housing Corporation (LH), they offer information that can be used at the time of the event, as well as comprehensive consultation services so that participants can easily continue to receive housing information for the regions they are interested in afterward.

In particular, tailored to the lifestyle of the younger generation, the project offers one-on-one consultations that suggest customized ways to make use of public housing in light of various situations that may arise according to each person’s future plans, such as living independently, marriage, and childbirth. The first on-site consultation was held on Wednesday, February 21, at a cafe near the Ewha branch of ‘Youth Mungan,’ in collaboration with the ‘Youth Mungan Social Cooperative,’ which operates support programs for young people.

Meanwhile, the Home & Meal project is an information-provision initiative promoted by LH Housing Welfare Information to provide close-knit support for young people. The project plans to continue its activities to build a housing ladder so that young people can envision a stable future through public housing.
