Eugene Corporation, 4 Specifications
Realizing Low-Carbon Green Growth

Eugene Corporation is leading the way in realizing low-carbon green growth by continuously expanding its eco-friendly ready-mixed concrete certifications.
Eugene Corporation recently announced that it has obtained additional low-carbon product certifications for four ready-mixed concrete specifications from the Ministry of Environment.
The product specifications that received low-carbon product certification this time are the four specifications 25-21-120 (Seoul Metropolitan Area), 25-24-120 (Seoul Metropolitan Area), 25-24-120 (Gangwon-do), and 25-27-180 (Seoul Metropolitan Area). Certified products are labeled in the order of ‘maximum size of coarse aggregate (㎜) – strength (MPa) – slump (㎜).’
With this certification, Eugene Corporation now holds a total of 71 specifications of products certified under the Environmental Product Declaration (EPD). The Environmental Product Declaration is a program operated by the Korea Environmental Industry & Technology Institute under the Ministry of Environment that quantitatively indicates the environmental impact across the entire life cycle—including raw material extraction, production, transportation and distribution, use, and disposal—in order to enhance the environmental performance of products and services. The Environmental Product Declaration is operated in two tiers according to carbon dioxide emissions: Stage 1 Carbon Footprint and Stage 2 Low-Carbon Product, and renewal certification must be obtained every three years.
An official from Eugene Corporation said, “As the number of green building certification sites increases, demand for eco-friendly products in the construction industry continues to rise,” adding, “We will continue to spare no effort in investing in production facilities that can expand eco-friendly products and in supporting research and development.”
Meanwhile, Eugene Corporation was the first in the ready-mixed concrete industry to obtain low-carbon product certification for the ‘25-24-150’ specification in 2018 and the ‘25-21-150’ ready-mixed concrete specification in 2019.
