Premium ‘The Opus’ Installed at the ‘Edward Hopper’ Solo Exhibition
A Photo Zone Recreating His Masterpiece ‘A Woman in the Sun’
Carrier Aircon is showcasing its premium air conditioner ‘The Opus’ at <Edward Hopper: On the Road>, Edward Hopper’s first solo exhibition in Korea, which runs for four months starting April 20, promoting The Opus’s distinctive artistic design and core technological capabilities.
The Opus is a product that combines Carrier Aircon’s proprietary AI technology—backed by 120 years of global HVAC expertise—with a design that adds a contemporary aesthetic sensibility. It faithfully delivers the air-care functions that are the essence of an air conditioner, renowned worldwide for their excellence, while its elegant design captivates the eye.
The name ‘The Opus’ derives from “Opus,” meaning a work by a renowned artist or a large-scale work of art. Like a work of art in its own right, The Opus aims to convey value as an artwork that goes beyond a mere home appliance at the first large-scale solo exhibition in Korea of Edward Hopper, hailed as a “leading artist in the history of 20th-century American modern art.”
The Opus can be seen at the entrance of the Seoul Museum of Art as well as at the photo zone in the third-floor Project Gallery. The photo zone, which places The Opus in a room recreating Edward Hopper’s masterpiece <A Woman in the Sun>, is expected to capture visitors’ attention. In addition, a ‘The Opus × Edward Hopper Exhibition’ visit-verification event runs through June 15, with winners receiving prizes including The Opus product as well as fabric posters, posters, and magnets from the Edward Hopper exhibition.
For this Edward Hopper exhibition, Carrier Aircon is providing The Opus air conditioners and ceiling-type system air conditioners so that the works can be displayed in an optimal environment, further solidifying its standing as a company with 120 years of specialized global HVAC expertise.
An official from Carrier Aircon stated, “The Opus is a premium air conditioner that brings together enhanced AI performance and aesthetic excellence,” adding, “We will convey the product’s performance and aesthetic value.”
Meanwhile, The Opus adopts a ‘Hidden Display’ that conceals the LCD display previously exposed on the front, giving it a clean exterior, while the display area uses restrained colors to add an accent. It comes in four colors: silver, light grey, natural blue, and light green.
It features key functions such as environment-tailored AI operation that delivers 3D three-dimensional cooling, a smart solution enabling remote control via an app, and a five-stage air-quality solution with enhanced indoor air-quality management. The product’s technological prowess was not overlooked either, fully incorporating the world’s first ‘Air Solution’ technology.
