Carrier Air Conditioning and Carrier Refrigeration Take Part in the ‘2022 Korea Energy Show’
Three Energy Winner Award-Winning Products on Display
Carrier Air Conditioning and Carrier Refrigeration took part in the ‘41st 2022 Korea Energy Show,’ held from November 2 to 4 at the KINTEX exhibition hall. The Korea Energy Show is the nation’s largest energy exhibition, and this year marked the third consecutive year that Carrier Air Conditioning and Carrier Refrigeration participated.
Under the theme ‘Create a Future with Sustainable Energy Saving Solutions,’ Carrier Air Conditioning and Carrier Refrigeration presented ‘energy saving solutions’ that deliver high energy efficiency while reducing consumption.
The exhibition booth showcased a range of world-leading solutions and high value-added products organized by theme, including △an integrated energy-reduction management solution △an intelligent building solution △a Toshiba solution △a New Total Cold Chain solution △the Autech Otis Parking System.
In particular, this exhibition offered visitors the chance to see, all in one place, the three products that swept the ‘25th Energy Winner Awards,’ hosted by the Citizens’ Alliance for Consumer Protection of Korea and sponsored by the Ministry of Environment, the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, and the Korea Energy Agency. The Energy Winner Awards were established to spread products and activities that save energy and resources and respond to climate change, thereby laying the groundwork for a transition to a sustainable society.
The ‘All New 18-Stage Wide Air Purifier,’ which received the ‘Grand Prize,’ the highest honor of the Energy Winner Awards, optimizes motor power consumption to match fan characteristics by linking high-performance Air Management System (AMS) technology with a high-efficiency motor, a new fan, and a new filter. Through this, it achieved a Grade 1 energy consumption efficiency rating, reducing operating power consumption by 20% compared to conventional products in the same class and lowering power consumption to 0.33 W/㎡ per square meter. It is an innovative product that currently represents the highest level in Korea in terms of the energy efficiency grade index (R), power consumption, and annual energy cost.
In addition, the ‘All New Aero 18-Stage Air Conditioner,’ which won an Energy Winner Award, applies a design that optimizes the cooling cycle along with a high-efficiency system, improving cooling efficiency by 33% compared to the company’s other products. By optimizing the refrigerant flow design to maximize energy savings, it reduces monthly cooling energy costs by up to 23% and carbon dioxide emissions by 25%.
At this exhibition, Carrier Air Conditioning also unveiled the ‘Solar Inverter Hybrid Boiler,’ a system that realizes an eco-friendly energy house. The product is an innovative one that operates an inverter boiler using electricity generated by solar power, supplying not only cooling and heating but also hot water. By harnessing solar power, a renewable energy source, it enables self-generation, which lightens the burden of electricity bills and dramatically reduces carbon dioxide emissions, making the realization of a ‘zero-energy house’ possible.
A Carrier official said, “Carrier is also launching energy-saving and carbon-neutral products, such as using the eco-friendly R32 refrigerant in its products, to contribute to achieving carbon neutrality by 2050,” adding, “Going forward, we will continue to devote ourselves to ESG management for sustainable growth and present products that align with the value-consumption trend, striving to become an environmentally friendly company.”
