Designed by M Space Design, the Orinoco café in Cheonggyesan was constructed across two floors using 'Prime Wood' in white and gray-wash colors, completing a noble yet romantic hotspot space. Paulownia 'Prime Wood' is made from environmentally friendly paulownia wood and uses no chemical preservatives whatsoever. As a result, it delivers a completely natural feel, entirely different from the film-wrapped tembo board commonly found on the market, making it a preferred material for a variety of indoor spaces.
Because the solid paulownia wood louver 'Prime Wood' is made from 100% natural wood, it is beneficial to health and fully satisfies the regulations on pollutant emissions from building materials set forth by the Indoor Air Quality Management Act, making it safe to use even in spaces occupied by children and the elderly.
In particular, its natural humidity-regulating effect prevents mold growth and helps prevent respiratory diseases, while also absorbing fine dust to create a more comfortable space. In addition, by using paulownia wood, which exhibits almost no shrinkage or expansion, it overcomes the shortcomings of conventional wood, and its insulation performance—twice that of ordinary wood and 20 times that of concrete—helps reduce heating and cooling costs. Furthermore, it offers fire-safe flame-retardant performance and outstanding durability, making it resistant to external impacts. On top of that, 'Prime Wood' is a finished product coated with eco-friendly paint over natural wood, allowing it to realize a wide range of colors and create diverse interiors. In addition, because 'Prime Wood' uses economical plantation tree species and is produced and supplied through a mass-production system, it can be purchased at a reasonable price.
