To mark its 50th anniversary, COMMAX held an appreciation concert at the COEX Auditorium on May 11.
This appreciation concert was arranged to express gratitude to all those who, over the past 50 years, have helped COMMAX lead Korea's video information and communications industry and grow into a global Home IoT specialist, and to pledge a leap forward into the future ahead.
The concert opened with a choral performance by Areumdeuri, a multicultural children's choir, followed by a dedication ceremony for the company's 50-year history book. Part one featured a collaborative performance by the Mostly Philharmonic and the children of COMMAX employees, while part two showcased beautiful pieces performed by tenor Byun Woo-seok, the current president of COMMAX, in solo, together with singer Sohyang. For the finale, all COMMAX members expressed their gratitude and their pledge to take on new challenges through a grand chorus.
Around 1,000 guests attended the COMMAX appreciation concert, including client customers, cooperating partners, and current and former executives and employees. Chairman Byun Bong-deok said, "I am grateful for the unwavering love you have shown over these 50 years, and we will strive to make COMMAX a company that continues to advance vigorously for the next 100 years."
On the same day, a ceremony was also held to celebrate the publication of Chairman Byun's management essay <Manage Your Dreams, Surpass Yourself>, which distills his 50 years of management know-how. Chairman Byun shared his thoughts, saying, "I hope that the experience I have accumulated over the past 50 years of running a company will be of even a little help in guiding young business leaders who are pursuing their dreams and taking on challenges today." The publication ceremony drew attention as it was attended not only by COMMAX affiliates such as global buyers and representatives of COMMAX's domestic dealerships, but also by young startup professionals.
