Emphasizing Simplicity in a Compact Size
Coway (CEO Suh Jang-won) announced that it has won a Winner award in the Product Design category of the ‘2023 iF Design Award.’
The iF Design Award, organized by the International Forum Design, is a globally prestigious design competition that selects winners based on a comprehensive evaluation of design innovation, ease of use, brand value, and more. Coway has won the iF Design Award for 16 consecutive years, from 2008 through this year, once again proving its innovative design competitiveness.
This year, three products were selected: the ‘Icon Ice Water Purifier,’ the ‘Skin Plus Water Softener,’ and the ‘Power Up Air Purifier.’ They earned high praise for their slim size that enhances spatial aesthetics and for their pared-down, simple designs that focus on essential value by removing unnecessary elements.
The Icon Ice Water Purifier drew acclaim for being the smallest ice water purifier in the domestic market, improving space utilization while simplifying complex visual elements.
The Skin Plus Water Softener combines practicality and elegance with an integrated-faucet design in a slim body whose front is made of a mirror. Its width and thickness have been significantly reduced compared to previous models, and the front mirror is equipped with a display screen that lets users visually check the water temperature, remaining regenerant/filter levels, and more.
Hwang Jin-sang, head of Coway’s Design Center, said, “We sought to minimize decorative elements so the products can blend naturally into any space, and to bring out a sense of elegance within simplicity,” adding, “Going forward, we will continue to enhance sophisticated design and user convenience to present a premium lifestyle.”
