Shinmyung Maru Recognized for Innovative Material Drawing Architects’ Attention

Excellent Durability, Waterproofing, Ease of Maintenance, and Environmental Friendliness

‘QUICK-STEP HYBRID,’ an innovative flooring material exclusively imported by Shinmyung Maru (CEO Kwon Hyuk-tae), has been recognized for its excellence by being selected as a certified building material by the Korea Institute of Registered Architects (KIRA).

QUICK-STEP HYBRID boasts a variety of distinctive features—including durability, waterproofing, ease of maintenance, and environmental friendliness—as well as a wide range of designs, making it a highly popular product in the architectural flooring market.

This selection was carried out over three months as part of the ‘Introduction of New Architectural Materials and Technologies’ project promoted by the Korea Institute of Registered Architects, which seeks out materials offering new functions distinct from conventional building materials and identifies those of superior quality.

After passing the first-round document screening, the second-round presentation review, and a public viewing for members, QUICK-STEP HYBRID was ultimately selected. Its click-lock system enables easy and fast installation, allowing the flooring to be installed or replaced with ease and without the need for specialized skills or tools.

In addition, thanks to its outstanding durability and excellent waterproofing, it can be used even in high-moisture areas such as indoor balconies, making it suitable for a variety of indoor environments. As a flooring material with high surface strength, it can be usefully applied across a wide range of settings, including not only residential spaces but also commercial spaces.

QUICK-STEP HYBRID products are generally very easy to clean and maintain. Moreover, they require no special cleaners or chemical products, making them even more eco-friendly. With their natural wood texture and diverse designs, they deliver a visual effect similar to high-quality solid wood flooring, drawing attention from an interior design perspective as well.

An official from the Korea Institute of Registered Architects said, “Architects have great interest in materials that allow them to make new attempts beyond conventional materials, and we expect that QUICK-STEP HYBRID, as an innovative material that meets such expectations, will be used even more widely in the construction industry going forward.”
