Kyungdong Navien & Kookmin University
'One More Condensing' Campaign

Kyungdong Navien has signed an industry-academic agreement with the Department of Metalwork & Jewelry at Kookmin University's College of Design (hereinafter the Department of Metalwork & Jewelry) and is launching an "Upcycling Artwork Competition Using Waste Boilers" (hereinafter the Competition).
This Competition is being held with the aim of working together with undergraduate and graduate students of the Department of Metalwork & Jewelry to create imaginative and practical works of art using end-of-life condensing boilers (waste boilers). Just as a condensing boiler helps improve air quality by recycling the heat remaining in exhaust gases to reduce air-pollutant emissions and raise energy efficiency, the initiative gives new life to discarded boilers as works of art to promote the value of environmental sustainability.
To this end, an industry-academic agreement ceremony was held on September 4 at Kookmin University's Main Administration Building, attended by some 10 people including faculty of the Department of Metalwork & Jewelry and Kyungdong Navien officials. Kookmin University will open the Competition in September, hold an interim presentation in October, then allow a work-production period throughout November, with the presentation of results and final judging taking place in December. Through the judging, scholarships totaling around 10 million won will be awarded to nine teams, including one grand-prize team, and an exhibition of the entries is also planned for January next year.
This Competition is also part of the "One More Condensing" campaign that Kyungdong Navien has been carrying out. "One More Condensing" is a campaign designed to convey to consumers the intrinsic value of condensing boilers, such as their environmental friendliness and energy-saving effect. In early May, at venues including Cheonggye Plaza, Kyung Hee University, and Hanam Misa Rowing Park, the campaign introduced the eco-friendly value of condensing technology to the general public through quizzes and simple hands-on activities.
