‘Condensing Once More’ Campaign

Kyungdong Navien has signed an industry-academia agreement with the Department of Metalwork & Jewelry of the College of Design at Kookmin University (hereinafter the Department of Metalwork & Jewelry) to hold an ‘Upcycling Artwork Competition Using Retired Boilers (hereinafter the Competition).’
The Competition is being held with the aim of working together with undergraduate and graduate students of the Department of Metalwork & Jewelry to create creative and practical works of art using condensing boilers that have reached the end of their service life (retired boilers). Just as a condensing boiler helps improve air quality by recycling the heat remaining in exhaust gas to reduce air-pollutant emissions and boost energy efficiency, the initiative aims to promote the value of eco-friendliness by giving discarded boilers a new life as works of art.
To this end, an industry-academia agreement ceremony was held on September 4 at Kookmin University’s Main Administration Building, attended by around 10 people including faculty members of the Department of Metalwork & Jewelry and officials from Kyungdong Navien. Kookmin University will open the Competition in September and hold an interim presentation in October, followed by a one-month production period in November, and then a presentation of the results and final review in December. Through the review, a total of 10 million won in scholarships will be awarded to nine teams, including one grand-prize team, and an exhibition of the participating works is also scheduled to be held in January next year.
The Competition is also part of the ‘Condensing Once More’ campaign that Kyungdong Navien has been carrying out. ‘Condensing Once More’ is a campaign conducted to convey the product’s inherent value—such as the eco-friendliness and energy-reduction effects of condensing boilers—to consumers. In early May, at venues including Cheonggye Plaza, Kyung Hee University, and the Misa Motorboat Racing Park in Hanam, it introduced the eco-friendly value of condensing technology to the general public through quizzes and simple hands-on experiences.
Kim Yong-beom, Head of Sales and Marketing at Kyungdong Navien, expressed his hope that “a wide range of creative works fully reflecting a youthful sensibility will emerge, and that this will serve as an opportunity to once again shine a light on the eco-friendly value of condensing technology.”
