POSCO Steelion

Participates in ‘Urban Break 2023’

POSCO Steelion (President and CEO Yang-soo Yoon) exhibited artworks created with PosART at ‘Urban Break 2023,’ Asia’s largest street art fair, held at COEX from July 13 to 16.

Now in its fourth year, URBAN BREAK is a cultural event that brings together graffiti, figures, contemporary art, and more into a festival of culture and the arts.

For this exhibition, POSCO Steelion used ‘PosART,’ its high-resolution inkjet-printed steel sheet, to display large-scale works created in collaboration with renowned graffiti artist LEODAV. In addition, at the official Urban Break MD shop, the company sold limited-edition PosART works produced in collaboration with artists such as Nicolas Blake—a 10-year-old boy artist famous as ‘the artist that artists follow’—LEODAV, and Steffer.

Noting that PosART delivers not only high-resolution, vivid color but also texture and a three-dimensional effect through a layered printing technique, POSCO Steelion has continued its efforts to apply PosART not only to building materials but also to cultural content businesses. After producing Korean artworks with PosART and holding an exhibition in December 2022, the company plans to expand the application of PosART across various fields of culture and the arts, having demonstrated through its participation in Urban Break that PosART’s distinctive characteristics can be showcased in contemporary art as well.

Young-eun Kim, an assistant manager at POSCO Steelion who oversaw the company’s participation in this exhibition, said, “To expand PosART’s cultural content business, we are collaborating with artists across a wide range of fields,” adding, “Going forward, we will strive to help the public recognize POSCO Steelion’s PosART as a unique material with emotion and creativity, breaking away from the cold image of steel.”
