POSCO Steelion and Dutch Lab share common ground in resource recycling

An eco-friendly store that leverages PosART's design, recyclability, and other qualities

POSCO Steelion (CEO Yoon Yang-soo), together with DBWD (Design Defense Corps, CEO Shin Dong-geon), has unveiled an eco-friendly store for the Dutch coffee brand "DUTCH LAB" at Hyundai Department Store's Sinchon branch.

Dutch Lab, a coffee brand operated by the design company DBWD, offers products that add beautiful design to Dutch coffee brewing equipment, and it is expanding exports to global markets such as Dubai. In addition to designing coffee equipment, Dutch Lab has also opened an eco-friendly Dutch coffee specialty store through a partnership with Hyundai Department Store.

Dutch Lab's store draws attention with the application of POSCO Steelion's color-coated steel sheet "PosART." PosART, a high-resolution inkjet-printed steel sheet, was used for all of the store's interior finishing materials and furniture. Because it is a steel material, its resources can be recycled when disposed of—a point that aligns with Dutch Lab's concept. PosART's base material is also POSCO's highly corrosion-resistant steel sheet "PosMAC," giving it excellent durability for long-term use, which adds further eco-friendly benefits.

POSCO Steelion explained that although PosART is a steel material, it was able to be applied throughout the entire store thanks to its ability to faithfully reproduce the texture and design of natural materials.

POSCO Steelion said that its color-coated steel has already been recognized for its value, having been applied by other well-known brands that prioritize the environment, such as Starbucks. The company added that it expects this application at the Dutch Lab store to serve as an opportunity for PosART to be recognized not merely as a construction material but as an eco-friendly space material.

Meanwhile, starting with the opening at Hyundai Department Store's Sinchon branch, Dutch Lab plans to open more than 20 stores and also intends to expand overseas.
