Korea Virtual Reality Co., Ltd. (CEO Jang Ho-hyun), a company specializing in the development of virtual reality (VR) solutions, announced that it will conduct a beta test of ‘Kovi Archi S,’ a solution that enables real-time virtual reality interior design in UHD resolution, through October 18.
‘Kovi Archi S,’ equipped with a next-generation VR engine, was developed to dramatically improve image quality—which had been the biggest drawback of virtual reality design solutions—and to deliver lifelike image quality to users in real time without any time delay. As a result, even a beginner who is not a CG expert can easily produce professional-grade results using Kovi Archi S. Because it can immediately reflect a customer’s various requirements during the design process and then provide results with true-to-life image quality, it is expected to greatly increase customer satisfaction. In addition, it provides more than 45,000 sets of 3D apartment floor plan data free of charge, so when designing an apartment interior there is no need to create floor plans—users can simply load the 3D apartment floor plans provided by Kovi Archi S and complete their design right away.
With trendy VR-related add-on features built in as standard, such as HMD (Head Mount Display) integration and 360 VR output in UHD resolution, users can experience the VR space as if walking around a real space using an HMD, or use 360 VR output to share works designed with Kovi Archi S on YouTube, Facebook, and more.
In particular, it also provides a feature for sharing files to ‘Kovi House,’ a mobile-based interior platform operated by Kovi Online, so that customers who visit a store can, after a consultation, experience the interior design discussed at the store in VR anytime and anywhere on a portable device such as a mobile phone or tablet—an experience expected to greatly increase customer satisfaction.
Kovi Online is a virtual reality interior design program service provided as an internet-based SaaS since 2003. In addition to Kovi Archi S, it also offers solutions for professionally designing kitchen furniture, system furniture, bathrooms, and more. About 9,500 interior companies are registered as members and using the service, and numerous companies including Hyundai Livart and LG Hausys also use the Kovi Online service for customer consultations.
The Kovi Archi S beta test, running through October 18, is open only to Kovi Online paid members and to personnel from universities and companies related to architecture and interior design. Applications can be submitted through the Kovi Online website (kovi.com) or the customer center (1644-4932).
