Member-company grading system implemented under strict quality standards
Platinum for the top 10%, Gold for the top 45%, and standard DUOLITE for the rest
Hankuk Glass, a leading player in Korea's glass industry, announced that it has selected nine Platinum-grade member companies.
Hankuk Glass has operated the 'DUOLITE Club' and 'SECURITE Partner' — Korea's first producer networks for insulating glass and tempered glass — since 2002 and 2007, respectively.
The networks were launched to seek mutual growth with small and medium-sized processed-glass companies, to share Hankuk Glass's own technology and know-how, and to improve the market into a quality-oriented structure that supplies consumers with high-quality products and services. In 2021, in order to enhance product safety in the glass market, Hankuk Glass introduced strict quality standards and has been operating a member-company grading system.
Under the grading system, member companies are divided into three grades — PLATINUM, GOLD, and standard member companies — based on evaluation scores across detailed criteria such as the quality of the products they manufacture, process and facility management, the usage rate of quality-verified recommended auxiliary materials, and EHS. Grades are determined through evaluations conducted four times a year, with Platinum awarded to the top 10% and Gold to the top 45%, while the rest are classified as standard DUOLITE member companies.
The member companies selected as Platinum grade through last year's evaluation are Kookyoung G&M Co., Ltd., Dalseong Glass Co., Ltd., Dongil Glass Co., Ltd., Daecheong Glass Industry Co., Ltd., Yeonggwang Plate Glass Co., Ltd., Yongjin Glass Industry Co., Ltd., Jeongam G&W Co., Ltd., Hankuk Glass Industry Co., Ltd., and Hyun Glass Co., Ltd.
In line with a quality-first management policy, the 'DUOLITE Club' and 'SECURITE Partner' revoke membership from companies that fall short of a certain quality standard or fail to comply with regulations, and they strengthen member companies' competitiveness through a management system designed to maintain a certain level of quality. As a network operated under such strict management, being a Hankuk Glass network member company in itself earns high trust from the relevant industry as proof that the company provides excellent quality and service.
An official from Hankuk Glass said, "Rather than focusing on expanding the scale of the network, we will do our best to raise its qualitative level — strengthening member companies' quality competitiveness through systematic management, customized diagnostics, reinforced on-site training, and frequent evaluations, discussing directions for improvement together, and enhancing communication and cooperation for mutual growth."
