Improving the environment of aging fire stations
Support including discounts for firefighters
Hanssem Co., Ltd. (CEO Kim Yu-jin), a comprehensive home interior specialist, announced that since July 2019 it has signed a business agreement with the National Fire Agency to improve the welfare of firefighters and has been carrying out a range of support activities, including ▲improving the environment of aging fire stations, ▲supporting memorial ceremonies for firefighters who died in the line of duty, and ▲providing discounts for firefighters.
Through its support for firefighters, Hanssem is helping to create a safer 'residential environment.' First, since July 2020, Hanssem has continued its project to improve the environment of aging fire stations so that firefighters can work in a more comfortable setting. The project involves newly renovating the interiors of worn-out spaces such as cafeterias and break rooms. As of this past October, it had improved the working environments of 37 fire stations nationwide, including the Inhwa 119 Safety Center in Iksan and the Jurye 119 Safety Center in Busan.
Hanssem also provided commemorative gifts at the annual memorial ceremony for firefighters who died in the line of duty, held each October. This year as well, it presented modest commemorative gifts to the families of firefighters who attended the event, conveying its condolences and gratitude. Hanssem continues to offer discounts for firefighters as well. Active firefighters, along with their spouses and lineal ascendants and descendants, receive discount benefits when purchasing Hanssem products.
A Hanssem official said, "We believe that helping firefighters work in a more comfortable environment is directly connected to creating a safe residential environment, which is why we are carrying out these support activities," adding, "We will continue our support activities on many fronts so that we can be a company that fully lives up to its social responsibility."
Meanwhile, under its mission of 'adding value to everyone's daily life by creating standards for spaces that lead to better living,' Hanssem is engaged in various social contribution activities. It carries out a space improvement project every month for neighbors in vulnerable housing situations, and to date it has improved the facilities and environments of more than 930 households, helping them enjoy a safe, convenient, and comfortable daily life.
