Comprehensive home interior company Hanssem (CEO Kang Seung-soo) has announced a plan to cultivate 2,500 total home interior experts, known as ‘Rehaus Designers (RD),’ to support the growth of its Rehaus dealerships. Under the plan, the company will strengthen the expertise of the roughly 1,000 RDs already active in the field and support the additional recruitment of approximately 1,500 new RDs, cultivating a total of 2,500 home interior experts.
An RD (Rehaus Designer) is a home interior expert affiliated with a Hanssem Rehaus dealership who handles the entire process required for interior remodeling—from customer consultation and design planning to construction supervision. As the frontline of Hanssem, RDs communicate directly with customers and require the expertise and capabilities to propose customized spaces tailored to each customer’s taste and lifestyle.
Cultivating interior experts is a key factor in the success of the Hanssem Rehaus business, which provides total home remodeling services. Hanssem is developing its Hanssem Rehaus package business—which provides not only kitchen furniture but also flooring, wallpaper, doors, windows, lighting, and more as a space package—as a future growth engine.
Hanssem has established a systematic education system to cultivate outstanding talent, addressing the difficulties faced by Rehaus dealership owners who find it challenging to independently recruit and train skilled interior experts. For individual dealerships in need of personnel, the head office actively supports recruitment and talent selection. Applicants who ultimately pass the open RD recruitment complete about a month of introductory training to build basic capabilities, after which they are assigned to Hanssem Rehaus dealerships nationwide according to dealership requests. New RDs then undergo an additional four weeks of on-the-job training (OJT) to build the job capabilities needed to be immediately deployed in the field. In this way, anyone with a passion for learning—even those without an interior design background—can pursue the RD role.
Hanssem’s RD introductory training curriculum consists of courses designed to improve the knowledge and capabilities required for the job, such as consultation techniques, design methods, and interior construction process knowledge. Through the head office’s training, prospective RDs enhance their sales, design, and on-site supervision capabilities, building the skills needed to become home interior experts. In addition, RDs who complete the introductory training grow into outstanding RDs through continuous development programs, including three stages of advanced capability enhancement training—‘Starter Training → Challenge Training → Master Training’—as well as online education, all conducted at the head office level. To date, some 1,000 RDs are active in the field.
