An ultra-large interior shop, 'Livart Mia Store,' at Hyundai Department Store's Mia branch
Interior specialists stationed in the store to provide customized services
Hyundai Department Store is unveiling a 'total interior service' that includes interior remodeling for kitchens, bathrooms and more — an industry first — as part of its efforts to differentiate its living content.
Hyundai Department Store announced that it has opened 'Livart Mia Store,' a total interior showroom, on the 8th floor of its Mia branch. At 714㎡ (216 pyeong), the store is the largest of the living-brand outlets across all 15 of Hyundai Department Store's locations.
'Livart Mia Store' is characterized by offering a total interior service that spans everything from Hyundai Livart's general furniture such as sofas, dining tables and cabinets to kitchen furniture (Livart Kitchen) and bathrooms (Livart Bath), as well as lighting and home-furnishing accessories.
A Hyundai Department Store official said, "We have operated Williams Sonoma's home-furnishing styling service since 2019, but this is the first time we are presenting specialized remodeling services for kitchens, bathrooms, interior doors and the like."
'Livart Mia Store' is composed of a Living Zone and a Kitchen·Bath Zone. The Living Zone displays some 200 types of furniture tailored to the concept of each space, including the living room, master bedroom and study, while the Kitchen·Bath Zone features around 10 showrooms presenting kitchen and bathroom products.
In particular, customers can view in one place a wide range of samples — including some 200 types of kitchen-furniture doors, tiles, countertop stone and bathroom ceramics — and around 20 'Livart Planners' equipped with detailed engineering and design capabilities will be stationed in the store to provide professional consulting services.
Hyundai Department Store has been investing in differentiating its living content, unveiling a Luxury Living Hall at its Trade Center branch and a 5,300㎡ Living Hall (spanning two floors) at its Cheonho branch, respectively, in 2018. As a result, the sales growth rate of Hyundai Department Store's living product group has posted double-digit growth for three consecutive years since 2018 (18.3% in 2018, 13.8% in 2019 and 14.2% in 2020). Notably, it maintained its growth momentum last year even amid the difficult business environment caused by the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic.
Hyundai Department Store is reportedly in discussions to open additional total interior stores in partnership with its group affiliate Hyundai Livart. It is also reviewing the introduction of a new-concept online·offline store that would provide comprehensive living services together with living-related affiliates such as Hyundai L&C, an integrated building-materials company, and Hyundai Rental Care (rentals), a total home-care company.
Kim Jung-hee, executive director and head of Hyundai Department Store's Living Business Division, said, "Interest in the residential environment is growing, and as the 'stay home' trend takes hold amid COVID-19, the number of customers demanding professional living services is increasing significantly," adding, "Going forward, we will build differentiated stores that can lead domestic living trends and grow the living product group into a core merchandising category of the department store."
