Hyundai Elevator held a youth scholarship award ceremony at its Chungju Smart Campus on September 9. The event was attended by the students receiving the scholarships and their teachers, Hyundai Elevator CEO Cho Jae-cheon, officials from Chungju City Hall, and others.
On this day, Hyundai Elevator held the scholarship ceremony in the Active Room of its Chungju Smart Campus, inviting around 30 high-achieving high school students recommended by local administrative bodies such as eup, myeon, and dong offices within the Chungju area, and presented scholarships totaling 30 million won. Hyundai Elevator's youth scholarship program has now been running for 16 years. Having started in 2009, it has continued even after the company relocated to Chungju in 2022, and a total of 318 young people have received scholarships through this year. In addition to the youth scholarships, Hyundai Elevator also donated 20 million won to low-income households. Marking Chuseok, the traditional Korean holiday, the company added a warm touch by extending a helping hand to local residents who might otherwise be overlooked.
CEO Cho Jae-cheon said, "Supporting young people so that they can continue to pursue their dreams and challenges for the future is one of the most meaningful management activities, and it aligns with Hyundai Elevator's management philosophy." He added, "We will continue to expand our support so that talented students in the Chungju area can achieve their dreams, overcoming economic and regional circumstances."
Meanwhile, beyond providing scholarships to young people, Hyundai Elevator is also working to cultivate local talent, including by establishing an educational program related to 'elevator installation and operation' in partnership with Chungju Technical High School starting this year.
