Saudi Cultural Attaché Attends

Exploring Cooperation in Technical Training and More

Hyundai Elevator held a knowledge conference on January 25 at H-Stadium in the Hyundai Group Building, sharing with its executives and employees the research activities of the ‘Global CoP (Community of Practice),’ an in-house self-directed learning organization.

At the conference, some 70 CoP team members shared with fellow employees the findings of a year-long study covering the construction industries, corporate landscapes, cultural characteristics, and market outlooks of major markets such as China, Indonesia, Vietnam, and Türkiye, as well as strategic countries including Saudi Arabia, Poland, and the Philippines. The event was made all the more significant by the attendance of Abdulaziz Aldael, Saudi Arabia’s Cultural Attaché to Korea, whose country is advancing the ‘NEOM City’ project—the world’s first city with all infrastructure operated by artificial intelligence (AI). Attaché Aldael discussed the exchange of elevator technology personnel and internships for Saudi scholarship students with Hyundai Elevator CEO Cho Jae-cheon, saying, “When you visit major Saudi companies or government agencies, the elevators are always Hyundai brand—that’s how well known it is,” and “We are ready to cooperate with Hyundai Elevator anytime and in any way.” Hyundai Elevator, which is pursuing its goal of becoming a global top-5 player by 2030, is accelerating its overseas expansion, having participated in 2023 as a member of the government-led ‘One Team Korea’ in briefing sessions for Saudi Arabia’s NEOM City and Indonesia’s new capital projects.

CEO Cho Jae-cheon said, “To reach new markets and new customers, an understanding of their culture and way of life is fundamental,” adding, “Going forward, we will continue to expand our employees’ global capabilities through a variety of programs such as the Global CoP, overseas training, and expert courses.”
