Hyundai Elevator (CEO Cho Jae-cheon) announced that it won main prizes at Germany's 'iF Design Award 2022,' regarded as one of the world's top three design awards, for its 'Clean Tech Fixtures' and 'Modular Hall Fixtures.' Following a main prize in 2012 and a gold prize in 2017, this marks the company's third win at this competition alone.
The 'Clean Tech Fixtures' honored this time is a design that responds to heightened awareness of spatial hygiene in the wake of COVID-19. The 'hall button,' which recognizes movement so that an elevator can be called without any contact, was designed with an intuitive form that harmonizes with a variety of architectural interiors, while the indicator inside the elevator drew attention for its air sterilizer that removes airborne bacteria and viruses using a HEPA filter and a sterilizing solution.
The 'Modular Hall Fixtures' is a product that places importance on the customer's 'design choice.' Hall electrical components such as buttons, key boxes, lanterns, and contactless sensors are each manufactured as individual modules, allowing customers to freely combine them up, down, left, and right as they wish. So that the product can harmonize with a variety of architectural finishing materials, button materials can be chosen not only from metal and plastic but also from a range of colors and patterns.
