MSCI ESG Rating

'A' Grade — Up One Notch

The ESG management that Hyundai Elevator has been pursuing is delivering remarkable results.

Hyundai Elevator earned an 'A' grade in the 2026 ESG rating assessment released on March 23 by MSCI (Morgan Stanley Capital International), a global ESG rating agency. This marks a one-notch improvement from its previous 'BBB' rating. Analysts point to improvements in the Environmental category as the main driver behind this upgrade.

Hyundai Elevator's ESG management is rated among the best even when compared with global elevator companies. In the Corporate Sustainability Assessment (CSA) by global rating agency S&P Global, the company scored 59 points — up 7 points from the previous year — ranking first among global elevator companies. Domestically as well, the company is solidifying its status as a bona fide ESG leader, earning an overall A+ grade from the Korea Institute of Corporate Governance and Sustainability (KCGS), an overall AA grade from Sustinvest, and selection for the 'ESG Best Companies 100.'

Hyundai Elevator's ESG management efforts stand out across every area. In the Environment category, the company applied a total of 7,600 kW of solar power generation facilities at its Chungju Smart Campus in 2022 to reduce greenhouse gases, and it is strengthening its management of emissions by expanding the scope of emissions reporting to include some affiliates and overseas subsidiaries in the pursuit of carbon neutrality. In particular, through Life Cycle Assessment (LCA), the company is also working to identify and improve the environmental impacts arising across the entire process, from product development to disposal.

In the Social category, the company conducts an annual human rights impact assessment and an employee satisfaction survey, and it is transforming into a family-friendly company through events such as inviting employees' families. In the Governance category, the company is striving to enhance corporate value through transparent management and shareholder-friendly policies, including the implementation of its shareholder-value enhancement plan and the provision of dividend predictability through amendments to its articles of incorporation.

Meanwhile, Hyundai Elevator launched its ESG management in earnest in 2022, when it established and declared a mid- to long-term plan to achieve carbon neutrality by 2050. The company is also actively pursuing a range of ESG activities, including ▲improving its governance structure by strengthening board independence, ▲establishing an inclusive organizational culture, and ▲community-linked social contribution activities.
