Automatic Ventilation Window ‘Smart Air System’ in the Product Design Category

Positioned at the Top of the Window, Enhancing Functionality While Keeping the Design Simple

Hyundai L&C, a comprehensive building-materials company affiliated with Hyundai Department Store Group, announced that its automatic ventilation window ‘Smart Air System’ won the Winner prize in the Product Design category of the ‘2024 Red Dot Design Award.’

The Smart Air System honored at Hyundai L&C is a slim automatic ventilation window whose ventilation equipment is positioned at the top of the window frame. It was highly praised for being designed to enhance functionality while keeping the design simple, taking into account both convenience and aesthetics. In particular, this award marks the company’s second achievement, following the selection of its premium window ‘REHAU R-900’ for the ‘Good Design Award’ hosted by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy last year.

The award-winning product is equipped with smart sensors that detect indoor air quality, such as fine dust concentration, and automatically supply clean outdoor air that has passed through a filter. On the front display, the status of fine dust, ultrafine dust, and carbon dioxide can be checked intuitively through changing LED colors, and a clean silver-coated cover design was adopted so that it blends well with any interior.

In particular, with the installation of ventilation equipment now mandatory in multi-unit housing of 30 or more households, this product has obtained a Grade 1 ventilation performance rating under the Green Building Certification standards, allowing it to replace conventional ceiling-type ventilation equipment and thereby producing the architectural benefit of increased ceiling height. Thanks to these advantages, it has recently been drawing considerable attention in the reconstruction and remodeling market, including its application at Imun IPARK Xi.

An official from Hyundai L&C said, “This award is recognition of Hyundai L&C’s efforts and direction toward innovation,” adding, “We will continue to actively discover and adopt smart technologies that can improve our customers’ lifestyles, leading next-generation innovation.”
