Signs business agreement for roughly KRW 200 million ‘Environmental Disease Prevention Project’
Participating for eight consecutive years since 2013, providing eco-friendly flooring and wallpaper
Hyundai L&C, a comprehensive building-materials company affiliated with Hyundai Department Store Group, announced that it signed a business agreement to provide flooring and wallpaper products worth approximately KRW 200 million at the business agreement ceremony for the ‘Environmental Disease Prevention Project’ for socially vulnerable groups, held at the Korea Environmental Industry & Technology Institute in Eunpyeong-gu, Seoul.
The ‘Environmental Disease Prevention Project’ is an environmental welfare service program in which environmental health specialists directly visit approximately 1,700 households among vulnerable groups—such as low-income families, people with disabilities, and elderly people living alone—to assess indoor air quality. It has been carried out by the Korea Environmental Industry & Technology Institute (hereinafter the Institute) since 2009.
Hyundai L&C has steadily participated in the ‘Environmental Disease Prevention Project’ since 2013. This year, it plans to donate flooring and wallpaper products worth approximately KRW 200 million, including the eco-friendly flooring ‘Myeongga’ and the wallpaper ‘Cutie,’ to improve the living environments of socially vulnerable groups and help prevent environmental diseases.
‘Myeongga,’ which Hyundai L&C will donate this time, is an eco-friendly flooring product that is the first in Korea to use pure raw materials and contains no phthalate plasticizers or heavy metals. With its excellent antibacterial and anti-mold properties, it is known as a safe flooring product free from allergy concerns. ‘Cutie’ is an environmental label–certified wallpaper made by layering paper, so it is free of harmful substances and offers good breathability that allows it to regulate humidity.
