Launches Two ‘REHAU R-900’ Products Co-Developed with Germany’s REHAU
Secures Supply Contracts for Large-Scale Seoul Apartment Complexes; Aggressively Targeting Redevelopment and Reconstruction Projects
Hyundai L&C is stepping up its push into the premium market with the successive launch of high-end products, including premium windows and doors.
Hyundai L&C, a comprehensive building-materials company under the Hyundai Department Store Group, announced the launch of two new products: the ‘REHAU R-900’ window system and the ‘REHAU Smart Air System,’ an automatic ventilation window.
The ‘REHAU R-900’ is Hyundai L&C’s top-of-the-line window product. It combines a four-sided sealing function with a tilt function—in which the top of the window opens at an angle—delivering not only thermal insulation, airtightness and soundproofing but also ventilation performance. The new product features a fully flat design with no overlap between window sashes, and it incorporates a smooth opening-and-closing system with soft-closing for added safety and convenience. Since 2017, Hyundai L&C has partnered with Germany’s REHAU, one of Europe’s top three window brands, to offer Korean-style premium windows that incorporate European technology.
A Hyundai L&C official said, “REHAU windows are drawing attention as a high-end building material, having been supplied to premium residential complexes such as Songpa Signiel Lotte Castle and Daechi Prugio Summit,” adding, “The number of housing units currently slated for new supply alone reaches 30,000 households.”
Alongside this, the company is also introducing the ‘REHAU Smart Air System’ automatic ventilation window. This product is a slim-design automatic ventilation window (13.5 cm in height) integrated into the upper part of the window. It detects fine-dust concentration, temperature and humidity both inside and outside the building and supplies clean air—filtered through elements such as filters—into the interior. It has earned a Grade 1 ventilation-equipment certification under the Green Building Certification standards. In particular, it is a next-generation window product that can be operated indoors via a wireless remote control and, when linked with home IoT, can be controlled remotely from outside using a smartphone, PC or similar device.
A Hyundai L&C official said, “Leveraging high-end building materials, we have recently been achieving tangible results, such as winning supply contracts for large-scale new apartment complexes including reconstruction projects in Seocho-gu, Seoul, and Imun IPARK Xi,” adding, “Going forward, we will continue to strengthen our premium product lineup and focus on capturing the redevelopment and reconstruction housing market.”
