Korea Interior Research & Development Association
Collaboration for the Development of the Interior Industry

‘Homecc Interior,’ the interior design specialty brand of KCC Glass (CEO Chung Mong-ik), has signed a business agreement with the Korea Interior Research & Development Association (AKILAB, hereinafter Akilab), embarking on collaboration to advance the domestic interior industry.
KCC Glass announced that it held a signing ceremony for the business agreement on the development of interior products and the training of skilled professionals at the Royal Park Convention in Yongsan-gu, Seoul, attended by officials including KCC Glass Executive Vice President Kim Deok-shin and Akilab Chairman Park Jun-soo.
Akilab is a specialized interior research and development (R&D) association made up of experts in interior design and IoT-related service fields. It has drawn particular attention as the first in the interior industry to operate an IoT academy for practitioners, aiming to lead the AI-based standardization of the interior industry.
Through this business agreement, the two parties will establish a close collaboration framework and undertake a range of activities to advance the domestic interior industry. In particular, through mutual information exchange and R&D cooperation, they plan to develop and supply interior products that offer reasonable prices and high quality to the market, while also working together to raise industry standards and foster a transparent interior market by preparing training programs to strengthen construction capabilities.
A KCC Glass official said, “We signed the business agreement with Akilab in order to promote the development of the domestic interior industry,” adding, “Building on the expertise and capabilities of Homecc Interior, we will work with Akilab to create an interior ecosystem that consumers can trust.”
Meanwhile, KCC Glass has been recognized for its outstanding product quality, taking first place for the 15th consecutive year in the PVC flooring category, the 8th consecutive year in the low-emissivity glass (coated glass) category, and the 5th consecutive year in the decoration film category at the ‘2024 Korea Standard-Quality Excellence Index (KS-QEI)’ organized by the Korean Standards Association this year.
