Himpel unveils a future blueprint for a new leap forward for the company and for ventilation appliances
As a ventilation specialist, the company vows to "devote all its efforts to bringing ventilation appliances into the mainstream"
Himpel Co., Ltd. (CEO Kim Jung-hwan), the company behind proper ventilation appliances, has declared 2021 the founding year of mainstreaming ventilation appliances and presented a future blueprint for a new leap forward for Himpel and for ventilation appliances in general.
Himpel announced that it will strengthen its capabilities and standing as a ventilation specialist and, to realize the mainstreaming of ventilation appliances, actively pursue four key tasks—△expanding the supply of ventilation appliances to multi-use facilities for COVID-19 prevention, △strengthening its ventilation appliance brands and expanding the lineup, △expanding and diversifying distribution channels, and △pioneering the global ventilation market—to achieve sales of 100 billion won in 2021.
Himpel's ventilation appliance 'Huven' handles ventilation and air purification in one. Using a high-performance filter system, it expels polluted indoor air outside and draws in fresh outdoor air that has passed through the filters. Because it enables ventilation without opening a window, it is well suited to facilities where natural or frequent ventilation is difficult. In particular, the stand-type ventilation appliance 'Huven S2' can manage the air of a large indoor area with a single unit, and it is being installed in large numbers at multi-use facilities.
Himpel plans to actively strengthen the brands and enhance the competitiveness of 'Hugentte,' which keeps bathroom air fresh and comfortable throughout all four seasons, and 'Huven,' which provides both ventilation and air purification for large indoor spaces at once. In addition, reflecting the recent demand from consumers who are sensitive to viruses and harmful substances, the company plans to develop products that add to their ventilation function the ability to effectively eliminate various germs such as mold and viruses.
The company will also work to expand and diversify the distribution channels for these products. As it has become known that ventilation is the most important disease-control measure for preventing COVID-19 in enclosed spaces, the ventilation appliance 'Huven,' which has become hugely popular at multi-use facilities, will see its supply expanded by 36% year on year this year as the company aggressively targets the multi-use facility market. The bathroom ventilation appliance 'Hugentte' will also continue to be featured on GS Home Shopping and Hyundai Home Shopping.
Furthermore, the company intends to boost its sales capability, construction quality, and customer satisfaction by expanding its network of Himpel specialty dealerships. It plans to grow the roughly 30 specialty dealerships currently operating nationwide to a total of 100 by 2025.
With last year's revision making ventilation systems mandatory in multi-unit housing complexes of 30 or more households, Himpel plans to use its solid existing sales base in the apartment and housing ventilation systems market as a springboard to actively enter the new-construction and remodeling markets as well. Himpel aims to create new demand by entering the premium construction market on the strength of its differentiated ventilation appliance design and functionality.
The company will also aggressively pursue the global ventilation market. Building on Russia—where it recently succeeded in exporting thanks to recognition of the superior multi-functionality of its bathroom ventilation appliances—and on Southeast Asia, where demand for ventilation appliances is rising as rapid urbanization drives increased construction of new apartments, Himpel plans to make these regions bases for tackling the global ventilation market. To this end, it plans to actively promote its ventilation appliances, which combine outstanding functionality and design, at a variety of domestic and international exhibitions, including Germany's ISH (the heating, ventilation and air conditioning trade fair), the Korea International HVAC Exhibition, and the Korea Mechanical Equipment Show.
Himpel CEO Kim Jung-hwan expressed his ambitions, saying, "In 2021, Himpel's ventilation appliances will present a new paradigm for the category with their differentiated functionality and excellence, and it will be a meaningful year in which the efforts Himpel has devoted to ventilation over the past 32 years bear fruit," adding, "Through strengthening our ventilation appliance brands, expanding our domestic and overseas distribution networks, and pioneering global markets, we will make this the founding year of our growth into Korea's leading ventilation appliance brand."
