For the energy-vulnerable and marginalized groups susceptible to fine dust

Donates ventilation air purifiers to the Seoul Council on Social Welfare, sharing a proper ventilation culture

Himpel, a company specializing in ventilation appliances, is drawing attention as it brings a heartwarming ventilation culture to life through its year-end social contribution activities.

On December 4, Himpel took part in the 6th 2020 Seoul Energy Welfare Sharing Awards, held at Seoul City Hall, where it held a ceremony to present its energy welfare donation (ventilation air purifiers).

The recipients are Seoul's "energy-vulnerable population and marginalized groups susceptible to fine dust," who struggle due to a lack of energy. Hosted by the Seoul Council on Social Welfare, the 2020 Seoul Energy Welfare Sharing Awards event is part of the Seoul Energy Welfare Fund projects, which include home energy efficiency improvement and eco-friendly initiatives. Himpel donated HuVent S2 (ventilation air purifier) units worth 13 million won to the Seoul Council on Social Welfare, joining the effort to bring a proper ventilation culture to Seoul citizens suffering from COVID-19.

Himpel's donated ventilation air purifier, the "HuVent S2," can save energy through its bypass mode, a ventilation method that does not pass air through the heat exchange element, thereby extending the lifespan of the heat exchange element. In addition, during ventilation the central heat exchange element recovers more than 70% of heating energy in winter and 60% of cooling energy in summer, reducing energy use. The product was also selected for the grand prize at the "2020 Best Brand Chosen by Consumers" awards, hosted by the Korea Consumer Evaluation Committee and the Chosun Ilbo.

Sponsoring ventilation air purifiers has been the activity with the highest recipient satisfaction among the social contribution activities Himpel has pursued to date. Last year, the company donated ventilation air purifiers to Suwon Technical High School in Gyeonggi Province, where students had been taking soldering classes while breathing in lead fumes in an unventilated space. Following this, in September of this year, it donated products to vulnerable groups sensitive to air quality residing in Hwaseong, supporting good deeds for a safe environment and clean breathing through its "Proper Ventilation Culture Campaign."

A Himpel official said, "We will continue to take an interest in social contribution activities that offer high satisfaction to recipients and help improve their lives, and strive to be a company that fulfills its social responsibility," adding, "Furthermore, in 2021 we plan to continue our sharing efforts to realize a proper ventilation culture for the energy-vulnerable population."
