An integrated platform for customized indoor air quality, with synergy expected
Hempel (CEO Kim Jung-hwan), a company specializing in ventilation appliances, announced that it has signed a business agreement with KT (CEO Koo Hyeon-mo) to build an “integrated platform for customized indoor air quality.”
Starting with this agreement, Hempel and KT will pursue a joint demonstration project for indoor ventilation systems and target the market together to protect public health and expand the ventilation market.
The integrated platform for customized indoor air quality is a solution that can simultaneously handle ventilation and control, the removal of indoor pollutants such as fine dust and carbon dioxide, and the reduction of carbon emissions in multi-use facilities. It makes indoor air quality easier to manage than regularly opening windows to ventilate, and it offers the advantage of reducing droplet concentration and virus infection rates.
Through the installation of ventilation systems, Hempel provides a safe ventilation and quarantine space where small-business owners and users of multi-use facilities can stay safely and comfortably, while KT, as a digital platform company, provides solutions leveraging its artificial intelligence (AI), Big Data, and Cloud technologies.
In addition, Hempel and KT will share the capabilities and technologies each company possesses and will jointly conduct research to enhance the functions of ventilation systems that can aid ventilation in multi-use facilities.
Meanwhile, Hempel’s ventilation systems enable indoor ventilation even in places where natural or frequent ventilation is difficult due to the building’s structure, and by reducing droplet concentration they can curb group infections of COVID-19; as a result, they are being steadily installed primarily in multi-use facilities such as study cafés, libraries, daycare centers, and sports facilities.
They are also drawing attention as products that can contribute to the practice of ESG management through reduced carbon emissions, as they can cut heating and cooling energy losses by up to 70% or more.
