LX Hausys, the Only Company in Korea’s Interior Industry to Be Included in the Index
Highly Rated in Areas Such as Environmental Policy, Climate Strategy, and Safety Management
LX Hausys has been included in the ‘Dow Jones Sustainability Indices (hereinafter DJSI) Korea Index’ for 10 consecutive years.
LX Hausys announced that it was the only interior company in Korea to be included in the ‘2024 DJSI Korea Index’ released by ‘S&P Global,’ a global financial information provider.
With this, LX Hausys has been included in the ‘DJSI Korea Index’ for 10 consecutive years since 2015, and it is the only interior company in Korea to maintain such inclusion for 10 straight years, further solidifying its standing as a company leading in ESG management.
The DJSI is a sustainability index that S&P Global has released for 25 years since 1999. It is widely used as an indicator that assesses a company’s level of sustainability management by comprehensively considering its economic performance and its performance in ESG aspects. In 2024, the evaluation became even more stringent as environmental management-related items were subdivided into areas such as water use, waste, and energy management systems.
LX Hausys received excellent ratings in areas including environmental policy and management, climate strategy, safety management, human capital management, risk management, and information security. In particular, it earned high scores for obtaining environmental management system certification and disclosing the scope of its environmental management system, as well as for its greenhouse gas management and its operation of employee training and capability development programs related to environmental management.
In terms of greenhouse gas management, LX Hausys reduced its greenhouse gas emissions last year by approximately 6% compared to the previous year (2022), and has been reducing emissions for five consecutive years since 2019 by pursuing process innovation, facility improvements, reduced energy consumption, and expanded use of renewable energy.
Meanwhile, LX Hausys has also maintained an integrated grade of A for nine consecutive years in the ESG evaluation released by the Korea Institute of Corporate Governance and Sustainability (KCGS), recognized as Korea’s most authoritative ESG management assessment agency. Since becoming the first company in the industry to achieve an A grade in 2016, it has continued to have its ESG management performance recognized and has maintained its A grade ever since.
