The 5th Super-E Technical Training, hosted by the Canada Wood Korea Office and Dankook University, will be held from August 5 to 14 at Dankook University's Jukjeon Campus.
Held in Korea for the first time, the Super-E Technical Training has been organized to bring together the expertise and experience of the Canadian Super-E Secretariat / Canadian Energy Efficiency Exporters Alliance and the Korea Wood Construction Association (KWCA), with the aim of transferring technologies for the planning, design, and construction of high-energy-efficiency, healthy wood-frame houses in accordance with the voluntary 'Korea Super-E Standard.' Enrollment is limited to a minimum of 20 and a maximum of 30 participants, and the tuition fee is a total of 1.75 million KRW, with Canada Wood covering 50% of the cost.
The main content of the technical training includes: △lectures and hands-on practice by the Super-E Secretariat's expert faculty and domestic specialists; △understanding and practice of the basic building science concepts of Canada's low-energy technical standard, Super-E; △intensive lectures on high energy efficiency based on Canada's 'house as a system' approach; △hands-on mock-up production of component technologies based on the theoretical lectures; △performance testing of the mock-ups produced; △a site visit to a domestic Super-E house; and △the Super-E Designate qualification test and certificate issuance (optional).
