NOROO Group Expresses the Beauty of Nature Through Color and Light
Space Staged Under the Theme of ‘MIRAGE,’ in Collaboration With a Polish Studio
NOROO Group announced that it participated in the world’s largest design event, ‘Milan Design Week 2023,’ held from April 17 to 21 at Via Novi 5 in the Tortona district of Milan, Italy, where it exhibited works utilizing color and light under the theme of ‘MIRAGE.’
‘Milan Design Week,’ Europe’s largest design event, is divided into ‘Salone Del Mobile,’ held as an indoor exhibition at Fiera Milano, and ‘Fuori Salone,’ which refers to the off-site exhibitions held throughout Milan. The entire city is transformed into an artistic space, with works themed around art, fashion, interiors, and more displayed wherever one goes. It offers a chance to explore global design trends and lifestyles, while creating a festival-like atmosphere to be enjoyed.
This exhibition was planned and overseen by NMDS (NOROO Milano Design Studio), NOROO Group’s Milan-based affiliate specializing in design and consulting. It defined the mirage—a phenomenon that occurs in deserts, cold climates, and elsewhere—as a natural phenomenon that offers hope in difficult times, and staged the exhibition venue as a space of rest combining color and light for modern people who wish to escape a complex and challenging reality.
The works used in the exhibition were produced jointly with ‘UAU Project,’ a Polish design studio and team of designers specializing in ‘3D printing art’ that gained attention for its collaboration with world-renowned fashion designer ‘Charles Jeffrey Loverboy.’
A NOROO Group official said, “At the Milan Design Week exhibition, which we took part in for the second time following 2019, we introduced a sensory space imbued with an original design philosophy,” adding, “We hope that, by presenting NOROO’s spatial planning capabilities and design solution expertise to global customers, this will serve as an opportunity for visitors to directly experience designs that can be interpreted beyond mere color as ‘various facets of everyday life.’”
Meanwhile, NSDS (NOROO Seoul Design Studio), a color design research institute under NOROO Paint, published the color trend book COVER ALL Vol.07 in collaboration with NMDS and New York’s ‘Mue Studio,’ and unveiled it at the Milan Design Week exhibition hall. This year, moving away from the previous integrated format, the content was subdivided into Mobility, Object, and Space, offering a variety of information and actual materials related not only to color but also to materials and finishes, with plans to launch it simultaneously at major global design hubs including Seoul, Milan, and Tokyo.
