‘2022 KOREA BUILD,’ Korea's leading and largest specialized exhibition for architecture, construction, and interiors, will be held at KINTEX in Ilsan from March 3 to 6, 2022.
‘KOREA BUILD’ is a specialized exhibition that encompasses the entire construction and building process—from design, construction, and design to maintenance—centered on domestic and international building materials and technologies. Starting with the Kyunghyang Housing Fair in 1986, it has presented the latest industry trends and contributed to invigorating the building-materials market, establishing itself as Korea's foremost construction and building exhibition and further growing into ‘Asia's TOP specialized exhibition for construction, architecture, and interiors.’
The exhibits cover everything about the home, building, and interiors: △‘construction and building materials’ such as structural/exterior materials, windows and doors, and building tools; △‘construction technology and equipment’ such as construction technologies/systems, construction equipment, and building safety; △‘building facilities’ such as heating/cooling and ventilation systems, home network (IoT) systems, and renewable energy; and △‘interiors’ such as interior materials, lighting, and design construction.
At 2022 KOREA BUILD, visitors can encounter a variety of technology-focused special pavilions based on planning and organization grounded in the policies and industry trends that deserve attention.
[Zero Energy Special Pavilion] To realize ‘carbon neutrality,’ which has recently emerged as a key strategy worldwide, the Zero Energy Special Pavilion will once again be held at 2022 KOREA BUILD, following 2021. This special pavilion spotlights high-performance, high-efficiency materials such as passive and active technologies, and will also feature seminars on development plans and technologies for achieving zero-energy buildings.
[Building Safety Special Pavilion] The Building Safety Special Pavilion, planned in response to building safety accidents and the expanded introduction of the quality certification system, showcases key materials and technologies including certified and verified fire-safety materials needed for building safety, as well as evacuation/fireproofing materials and equipment, monitoring systems & sensors, seismic-safety materials, and safety equipment.
[Wooden Architecture & Timber Industry Special Pavilion] The Wooden Architecture & Timber Industry Special Pavilion, established to invigorate eco-friendly wooden architecture and explore development strategies, will present the core technologies and products of each field. In addition, following 2021 KOREA BUILD held at COEX in Seoul this past August, an architecture exhibition by world-renowned architect ‘Shigeru Ban’ will be held, through which visitors can see case studies and proposal directions for mid- to large-scale wooden architecture.
Meanwhile, KOREA BUILD is a mega-scale industrial exhibition covering a total of five industries, holding concurrently four related-industry exhibitions that can grow together with the construction and building sectors.
Through concurrent hosting with ‘Modular Construction Industry Expo,’ Korea's only exhibition specializing in modular construction; ‘Interior Design Korea,’ a business platform exhibition for products, finishes, and design that compose spaces; ‘Clean Air Expo,’ Korea's leading exhibition specializing in the air industry for reducing greenhouse gases and fine dust and responding to viruses; and ‘Kyunghyang Real Estate Fair,’ an exhibition specializing in the real estate industry including real estate development and investment, proptech, and asset management, KOREA BUILD creates synergy across industries and provides opportunities to pioneer new sales channels through the formation of new markets.
