Korea VR supports VR solutions for a wide range of industries
Backed by 20 years of expertise, it offers more than 117,000 3D VR apartment floor plans
Korea VR (CEO Jang Ho-hyun) announced that it is providing “3D VR apartment floor plans” covering 97% of all apartment blueprints nationwide.
As the recent industry-wide wave of “Untact” (contactless) services sweeps into the real estate market, “VR real estate services” are gaining popularity. An era has arrived in which people can tour a home in a virtual space that looks exactly like the real thing—anytime, anywhere—without having to visit in person. In this context, the proptech industry is competing fiercely to secure 3D apartment floor-plan data, and at the center of it all stands Korea VR, a company specializing in the development of VR solutions.
Drawing on more than 20 years of accumulated VR expertise, Korea VR supports VR solutions for a diverse range of industries, including space management, spatial data, and spatial design. Its “3D VR apartment floor plan” production business is one such offering. In step with the growth of the proptech market, the company recently expanded its collection of roughly 45,000 3D VR apartment floor plans to about 115,000, adding some 2,000 new plans on May 21. This figure corresponds to a remarkable 97% of all apartment blueprints nationwide (based on 2020 K-apt calculations, using a total of 122,000 apartment blocks).
The 3D VR apartment floor plans are produced using Korea VR’s “automatic image extraction/processing” technology. Based on Korea VR’s proprietary VR solution “KOVI Archi” and its “AI image recognition” technology, this system automatically converts image-format 2D blueprints into VR blueprints that include 3D models. Through this process, Korea VR explains, an original blueprint can be processed into whatever data format is desired, such as △2D CAD drawings △3D top-view drawings △3D bird’s-eye views.
All apartment blueprints provided by Korea VR can be viewed across a variety of environments, including web, PC, and mobile, and users can also decorate the interiors of the VR apartment blueprints they load using the free mobile interior app “KOVI House VR.” In connection with this enhancement of its apartment floor-plan data, Korea VR announced that it is preparing even more advanced real estate and interior services using the 3D VR apartment floor plans it provides.
Meanwhile, Korea VR is a company that offers a variety of VR services powered by its in-house KOVI 3D engine. Its key services include KOVI Online, a 3D sales consultation tool for interior businesses. In addition, the company has led the adoption of VR technology among firms in the architecture and interior sector by continuously implementing and upgrading solutions for leading domestic kitchen, furniture, and office-interior companies such as Livart, iloom, Moksan, Nexis, and Borneo. Beyond the architecture and interior field, Korea VR is also expanding its 3D VR solution offerings into areas such as the integrated space management system of Incheon International Airport Corporation and the security design solution of S-1.
