Sales of Samsung Electronics' home-use system air conditioners rose 25% in May compared with the same month last year. Cumulative sales from January to May this year also increased by more than 15%.
System air conditioners make efficient use of space and blend well with interior design, boosting their appeal among consumers who are sensitive to design and space utilization. They had also been regarded as a difficult product that could only be installed during a new-home sale, move-in, or interior remodeling. However, sales have grown because Samsung Electronics can install up to six units in a home that is currently occupied in just eight hours. In particular, the number of home-use system air conditioners installed in occupied homes rose more than 70% year-on-year.
When a customer makes a purchase at an online or offline store such as a Samsung Store or Samsung.com, an official professional installation partner designated by Samsung Electronics handles the installation, and Samsung Electronics manages compliance with standards for the use of standard materials and a two-year free after-sales service (AS) program, enhancing reliability.
Samsung Electronics has also broadened consumer choice by unveiling its premium lineup, the 'BESPOKE AI WindFree System Air Conditioner Infinite Line.' Equipped with a radar sensor, the 2024 BESPOKE AI WindFree System Air Conditioner Infinite Line is winning strong consumer response with its customized AI features, premium materials, and refined design. In addition, the 'AI Absence Energy Saving' feature learns the user's absence patterns to automatically adjust cooling and reduce unnecessary energy consumption.
Samsung Electronics said that as the intense heat continues, a growing number of customers are seeking out Samsung Electronics system air conditioners equipped with a variety of features that satisfy consumers, such as smart AI functions and WindFree cooling, and it expects that home-use system air conditioners—which can be installed in a single day even while a home is occupied—will quickly become a trend.
