Subsidiary of KCC Paints (Chokwang Paint)

Expanding overseas with electrical and electronic materials

CK EM Solution Co., Ltd. (CEO Yang Kwang-yong), a company that provides heat-dissipation material solutions, held a completion ceremony for its plant in Heves, Hungary, on November 17.

CK EM Solution is a corporation that Chokwang Paint spun off and established separately in 2021 to expand its business in the electrical and electronic materials sector. Aiming to enter the European market, the company set up a corporation in Heves, Hungary, and built a plant there.

The investment in the Hungary plant totals approximately 7.5 billion won. Built on a 10,000㎡ (3,030-pyeong) site, the plant has an annual production capacity of 1,000 tons of heat-dissipation adhesive—a volume that can be applied to 200,000 electric vehicles. The company also announced that it has secured additional space for expansion of about 3,000 tons and plans to expand its facilities in the future to acquire customers and grow sales. It has currently completed the installation of the equipment lines for producing heat-dissipation adhesive for EV batteries and is preparing for trial production.

Yang Seong-a, CEO of Chokwang Paint, said, “This completion ceremony for the Hungary plant marks the moment when Chokwang Paint moves beyond its traditional paint business and secures a new growth engine in the electrical and electronic materials field in earnest, and through the completion of the Hungary plant, CK EM Solution has laid a springboard for entering and growing in the new European market.” She added, “As demand for high-density batteries and their stability come to the fore, interest in heat-dissipation adhesives is rising, so we plan to actively pursue attracting a range of customers on the basis of CK EM Solution’s unrivaled technological capabilities and cost competitiveness.”

An official from the city of Heves also said that CK EM Solution—Heves’ first collaboration model with a Korean company—will serve as a catalyst that promotes the entry of Korean companies into Hungary going forward.
