Establishment of the ‘DL Safety & Health Council’

Synergy in Safety Management Anticipated

DL E&C announced that, as part of its efforts to strengthen safety management, it has jointly established and begun operating the ‘DL Safety & Health Council’ (hereinafter the ‘Council’) together with its wholly owned subsidiary, DL Construction.

DL E&C and DL Construction established the Council to achieve their safety and health goal of ‘Zero Serious Accidents’ this year. Lee Gil-po, Chief Safety Officer (CSO) and Head of the Safety & Health Management Division at DL E&C, and Lim Sung-hoon, CSO at DL Construction, serve as co-chairs leading the Council.

Through the operation of the Council, the two companies have decided to build a seamless safety and health framework spanning everything from the establishment of safety and health policies and goals to the development of safety systems. The plan is to compare and analyze safety standards, such as safety operation manuals, then reorganize the work systems and roles and responsibilities (R&R) between the organizations, thereby carrying out optimized safety activities.

In particular, the two companies plan to share the results of each company’s safety inspections through regular Council meetings and, through cross-checks, derive key insights and areas for improvement. Through such activities, they expect to further elevate their safety and health standards while improving operational efficiency and even securing top-tier quality.

For three months, the Council will pursue effective and sustainable safety-related improvement activities in a task force (TF) format. Afterward, it plans to finalize the optimal approach for operating the Council and transition it into a regular body.

An official from DL E&C said, “We have formed the Council with the goal of securing the highest level of safety through close communication and thorough cross-checks between the two companies’ safety organizations,” adding, “When it comes to safety, we will make no compromises and press on relentlessly toward our goal of zero serious accidents.”
