Partners with the Volunteering Culture of Korea to foster a culture of service and social contribution activities
Focuses on environmental cleanup and resource circulation to respond to climate change
KCC Glass (Chairman Chung Mong-ik) has signed a business agreement with the incorporated association "Volunteering Culture of Korea" and will carry out a range of social contribution activities involving its executives and employees.
On April 21, KCC Glass held a signing ceremony at the Volunteering Culture of Korea office located in Seocho-gu, Seoul, attended by officials from both sides, and agreed to jointly plan and conduct various social contribution activities involving KCC Glass executives and employees.
Founded in 1997, Volunteering Culture of Korea is an organization that has continued to develop and disseminate a variety of volunteer programs.
Through its collaboration with Volunteering Culture of Korea, KCC Glass plans to encourage voluntary participation by its executives and employees and to carry out diverse social contribution activities, thereby fulfilling its corporate social responsibility.
In particular, in order to actively support the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) — one of the company's ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) management standards — the company plans to focus on environmental cleanup and resource circulation activities to respond to climate change, such as the production and installation of air purification kits.
Alongside its various social contribution activities, KCC Glass is actively pursuing ESG management, including operating power generation facilities at its plants using renewable energy.
Recently, the company established an ESG Management Team under its Management Support Division, and Chairman Chung Mong-ik is personally overseeing ESG management strategy and its details, working to firmly embed ESG management across the entire company.
An official from KCC Glass stated, "Through our collaboration with Volunteering Culture of Korea, we plan to foster a culture of service among our executives and employees and continue various social contribution activities," adding, "As a corporate citizen, we will continue to strive to contribute to creating social value for a healthy society."
