A social-contribution project that remodels children's educational facilities in local communities
KCC Glass has opened the first 'HomeCC Classroom,' a project to improve children's educational facilities at community welfare centers that the company is carrying out as part of its corporate social-contribution activities.
On the 5th, KCC Glass held the opening ceremony for its first HomeCC Classroom at the 'Sanseong Community Welfare Center' located in Sujeong-gu, Seongnam, Gyeonggi Province, attended by KCC Glass executives and staff along with officials from the Saenal Welfare Society and Seongnam City Hall. At the ceremony, a plaque unveiling was held, and the newly remodeled classroom was introduced to the children who use the welfare center and to its social workers.
KCC Glass's HomeCC Classroom is a project that remodels aging children's educational facilities at local community welfare centers in order to provide the children who use these facilities with an energy-efficient and safe learning space. In particular, it is a 'business-linked' social-contribution activity built on the know-how of 'HomeCC Interior,' the specialized interior brand operated by KCC Glass, and it is being introduced and rolled out by KCC Glass for the first time this year.
The Sanseong Community Welfare Center, which became the first HomeCC Classroom, is a welfare facility that offers elementary after-school care classes, special-skills education, and cultural experiences for residents of the Sujeong-gu area, and it is one of the facilities where after-school education for local children is especially active. Until now, aging conditions had made it difficult to use the space as an educational area for children, but this HomeCC Classroom project now makes it possible to provide children with a pleasant and safe learning environment.
Through the HomeCC Classroom project, KCC Glass plans to additionally remodel children's educational facilities at two more community welfare centers located in Seoul, Busan and elsewhere, completing the remodeling of a total of three children's educational facilities this year.
A KCC Glass official said, "We are very pleased to open the first HomeCC Classroom ahead of summer, providing a comfortable classroom where children in the Sujeong-gu area can study to their heart's content even in the heat."
