Strengthening community social contribution activities
5th location also slated to open
KCC Glass has opened the 4th location of its 'HomeCC Classroom,' a project to improve the educational environment at child welfare facilities, reinforcing its community-centered social contribution activities.
On July 20, KCC Glass held the opening ceremony for the 4th HomeCC Classroom at the Yeonhui Community Child Center in Seo-gu, Incheon, attended by KCC Glass executives and staff as well as officials from Incheon's Seo-gu and the IBA Foundation. Along with a plaque unveiling, the ceremony offered an opportunity to introduce the improved learning and play spaces to the children who use the center.
The HomeCC Classroom is one of KCC Glass's flagship 'business-linked' social contribution activities, carried out since last year. Drawing on the know-how of 'HomeCC Interior,' the company's specialized interior brand, the project remodels aging child welfare facilities to create quality educational environments where children can study in safe and comfortable surroundings.
Last year, KCC Glass opened HomeCC Classrooms at three social welfare institutions in Seoul, Gyeonggi, Busan, and elsewhere through this project. This year, in particular, the company jointly selected the recipient institutions through a business agreement with Incheon's Seo-gu, ensuring that the project's benefits reach the institutions in the community that need support the most.
Following this 4th location, KCC Glass plans to open a 5th HomeCC Classroom within the year at the Saemmul Community Child Center in Seo-gu, Incheon, and will continue to pursue community-based social contribution activities so that children in the area can study in a healthy environment.
In addition, the company plans to run eco-friendly building and interior education programs in which KCC Glass's employee volunteer corps participate as mentors, offering children who use the HomeCC Classroom a variety of educational opportunities such as upcycling experiences and career exploration.
