Laying the Foundation for Transparent and Professional ESG Management

KCC Glass (CEO Kim Nae-hwan) announced that it has established an ESG Committee under its Board of Directors to strengthen ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) management.

On May 10, KCC Glass held a Board of Directors meeting and resolved to establish the ESG Committee under the Board. The newly created ESG Committee comprises three members—two outside directors (Kim Han-soo and Kim Young-geun) as well as inside director and CEO Kim Nae-hwan—ensuring that a wide range of internal and external opinions are gathered and objectivity is secured. Outside director Kim Han-soo was appointed chairman of the committee.

Going forward, the ESG Committee will carry out duties including △establishing ESG strategies and key policies △reviewing plans and progress of major ESG-related activities and △identifying ESG-related areas for improvement.

Since its founding in 2020, KCC Glass has continuously pursued the strengthening of ESG management on a company-wide level, including establishing a dedicated ESG organization, the “ESG Management Team,” and operating an internal ESG working-level council that includes key personnel from organizations such as △research △quality △human resources △safety △compliance and △finance.

In addition, to join in achieving the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), the company joined the “United Nations Global Compact (UNGC)” and participated in the “Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP),” disclosing the status of its climate change and water-related management, among other steady efforts to fulfill its corporate social responsibility.

Through these efforts, KCC Glass has been recognized for its ESG management performance both at home and abroad, earning a “Gold” rating in the sustainability assessment by global research firm “EcoVadis” last year and the highest rating of “AA” in the ESG performance evaluation by leading domestic assessment agency “Sustinvest.”
