Integrated A grade for the second consecutive year
Consideration for a wide range of stakeholders
KCC Glass received an integrated A grade for the second consecutive year in the ‘2024 KCGS ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) Evaluation and Ratings’ announced by the Korea Institute of Corporate Governance and Sustainability (KCGS).
The Korea Institute of Corporate Governance and Sustainability is one of Korea’s major ESG rating agencies, and each year it evaluates the sustainability management levels of domestic listed companies across the △Environmental △Social and △Governance categories and announces their ratings. This year, it conducted evaluations of 1,066 companies, including firms listed on the KOSPI and KOSDAQ as well as unlisted financial companies.
In this year’s evaluation, KCC Glass was highly recognized for its efforts to fulfill its social responsibilities with consideration for a wide range of stakeholders, earning an A+ grade in the Social category, and achieved strong ratings across the individual categories to maintain its integrated A grade following last year.
KCC Glass has maintained its certification as an Excellent Family-Friendly Company since 2021, and last year it disclosed its human rights management policy and conducted its first human rights impact assessment. It also operates a shared-growth program to support the ESG management of its partner companies.
In addition, KCC Glass is carrying out a variety of social contribution activities. Representative examples include ‘HomeCC Classroom,’ a business-linked social contribution program, and ‘Save the Birds KCC Glass,’ a biodiversity conservation campaign.
HomeCC Classroom is a program that remodels aging child welfare facilities using the expertise of the specialized interior brand ‘HomeCC Interior.’ As of this year, HomeCC Classrooms have opened at seven social welfare institutions nationwide. The Save the Birds KCC Glass campaign is an initiative that attaches bird-collision prevention stickers to buildings with a high risk of wild bird collisions and certifies them as ‘bird-friendly buildings’; this year, two forest libraries were certified as bird-friendly buildings.
A KCC Glass official said, “Our various efforts to fulfill the company’s social responsibilities have led to excellent evaluation results following last year,” adding, “Going forward, we will strengthen our ESG management centered on the ESG Committee and create a corporate culture that pursues sustainability through the interest and participation of all employees.”
Meanwhile, KCC Glass has reorganized its existing ESG vision framework and established a new ESG strategic goal of becoming a ‘Sustainability Oriented Innovator,’ which it disclosed through the ESG report published this July. This reflects the company’s commitment to considering sustainability in all of its decisions and actions and to becoming an innovative company that contributes to sustainability.
