Web seminars held for B2B customers in the construction industry

Product introductions, design proposals, construction methods, quality control, laws and policies, and more

As the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic placed constraints on face-to-face sales activities, KCC (CEO Jung Mong-jin) has stepped up efforts to strengthen customer communication through an "on-tact" approach.

KCC is drawing industry attention by hosting webinars—customized, on-tact web seminars—for B2B customers in the construction industry. A webinar, a portmanteau of "web" and "seminar," refers to a real-time seminar held over the internet using an interactive online video conferencing platform. Through these seminars, customers can gain comprehensive knowledge of building materials and explore product lines that embody KCC's outstanding technology and design.

The webinars cover the full range of building-material products KCC manufactures, including △gypsum board △ceiling materials △Beauticle (restroom partition systems) △thermal insulation △windows and doors △architectural paints and △sealants. In particular, they provide customer companies with comprehensive information ranging from basic product introductions—such as the types and key features of each product—to design proposals, construction methods, quality control, and related laws and policies that make use of them. In addition, a variety of content is offered, such as the design trend seminar held annually by the KCC Color & Design Center, allowing customers to select and attend the topics they wish.

Applications for the webinars can be submitted on the KCC website. Customers can participate in a tailored seminar by specifying details such as the purpose of attending (material selection, staff training, etc.), the type of company (developer, design firm, contractor, etc.), and the desired content. Once an application is received, a dedicated specialist for each product is assigned within one week to discuss the detailed schedule and format in specific terms. Participation is possible through a variety of online video conferencing platforms, including Zoom, MS Teams, and Google Meet.

To date, many customer companies—including 37 design firms and 18 interior design firms—have taken part in the web seminars. Participating companies expressed high satisfaction, noting that "access to seminar participation has expanded" and that "concentration has improved because we can attend seminars tailored to us from our own locations regardless of the external environment." Going forward, with continuous content development and a simple application process through the website, many customer companies are expected to take interest in and participate in KCC's web seminars.

A KCC official stated, "By using digital communication methods, we can conduct in-depth, customized seminars with customers even when face-to-face communication is restricted by COVID-19," adding, "Based on KCC's excellent capabilities and expertise, we will deliver valuable information to customers and strengthen smooth sales support and communication."
