Children from Sanseong Community Welfare Center invited to design their dream homes
A mentoring program on the value of homes and spaces
KCC Glass (Chairman Chung Mong-ik) held a ‘Homecc Classroom Interior Design Experience Mentoring’ event on July 20, inviting children from the ‘Sanseong Community Welfare Center’ to the Homecc Interior Bundang Pangyo branch.
The Homecc Classroom Interior Design Experience Mentoring is a mentoring event for children at welfare center educational facilities that have been remodeled through ‘Homecc Classroom,’ KCC Glass’s initiative to improve children’s educational environments. It is a social contribution program designed to nurture children’s imagination regarding living spaces. Winners of the ‘Korea Interior Architecture Competition’—a leading domestic interior architecture contest that ‘Homecc Interior’ has sponsored for 12 years—participate as mentors, offering children opportunities to learn about and engage with interior design.
The event was held with children from the Sanseong Community Welfare Center in Seongnam, the recently opened first Homecc Classroom location. The invited children spent time learning from a professional instructor about the hidden meaning behind interior design that considers users’ safety and convenience, and also enjoyed a hands-on experience designing and building the homes they had always wanted to live in, together with their mentors.
In particular, Mariya, Kkiya, and Gukmini—members of the children’s YouTube channel ‘Mariya and Friends’—joined the event and enlivened the atmosphere. The footage filmed that day will also be shared on the official YouTube channels of Mariya and Friends and Homecc Interior.
A KCC Glass official said, “We are pleased that through this mentoring event the children were able to spend a rewarding time decorating the homes they want to live in and nurturing their imagination about the happiness that homes and spaces provide,” adding, “Going forward, based on our social contribution vision of a ‘happy world where we live together’ that KCC Glass pursues, we will strive to be of even a little help to many children as they grow with dreams and hope.”
