Public-private social contribution initiative to improve aging residential environments
Support for painting village walls and an art contest using KCC paint
KCC is continuing its public-private social contribution program 'On(溫) Dongne Supuro,' which improves aging low-rise residential environments, for the seventh year this year.
On May 27, KCC signed an agreement with the Gangbuk-gu Office, ChildFund Korea, and the Low-Rise Residential Area Regeneration Project Team to mark the start of this year's On Dongne Supuro project. Following last year's improvement of environments at 23 sites in Samdeok Village, Seongbuk-gu, this year the company plans to help residents of a Gangbuk-gu village live safely and comfortably.
First launched in 2018, On Dongne Supuro is a project carried out through cooperation among local governments, private companies, and non-profit organizations to transform low-rise residential areas in Seoul into safe and pleasant environments. Its name carries the meaning of warmly (溫) transforming an entire village using KCC's paint brand 'Supuro Paint' and building materials.
This year, KCC is investing about 150 million won worth of building materials, including paint, to improve the village environment and support the revitalization of the local community. KCC executives and employees plan to work together with village residents, children, and artists to paint the village's old walls and create murals, building a safe and clean village.
When painting walls, using high-performance products such as KCC Supuro All-in-One allows anyone to paint easily regardless of the material—be it steel, wood, or concrete. In addition, using paint with excellent weather resistance is expected to keep colors vivid for a long time even in outdoor conditions such as moisture and sunlight.
In particular, this year the company also plans to hold an art competition using KCC paint, a program designed to heighten local residents' interest in and affection for their village. Works selected in the art competition will be reflected in the coloring of murals or displayed separately.
In addition, the company is carrying out community revitalization projects in which village residents and artists take part together, including the 'On Sup Keunmaeum Children's Restaurant,' where local residents and children cook and share food together; the 'Senior Chorus,' in which local residents sing together; and the 'On Maeum-eul Pumda' festival.
