Subscriber-verification event running through May 26, with chicken coupons up for grabs
A lineup of content that is both fun and informative
To celebrate the launch of its official YouTube channel, KCC is holding a YouTube subscription-verification event as it steps up efforts to expand communication with consumers.
KCC posted the ‘KCC YOUTUBE — We’re Getting Serious and Starting Now’ event on its official YouTube channel, signaling a full-fledged push to broaden its outreach. The event was designed to showcase various sides of the company through interesting and entertaining content, to build a stronger rapport with the public, to preview upcoming activities, and to invite plenty of support.
The event runs through May 26, and BHC chicken coupons will be given out to participants selected by a random drawing. To take part, simply subscribe to the KCC YouTube channel and leave a comment on the event page. Full details of the event can be found on KCC’s official YouTube channel.
Through YouTube, KCC plans to shed the stiff corporate image that comes with its traditional B2B (business-to-business) focus and present a young, flexible corporate culture. In particular, rather than mainly uploading conventional corporate advertisements or simple product-introduction videos as it did before, the company will roll out a variety of content that is both fun and informative.
One such series, ‘Suddenly, the KCC Lab,’ features KCC researchers who directly conduct experiments to compare and demonstrate the product performance that consumers are curious about. In addition, KCC plans to present engaging and relatable content such as employee vlogs (V-Logs), easy-to-follow product installation, and DIY guides.
Meanwhile, last June KCC released its ‘Why Are You Here, Bro?’ ad video—featuring sports star Chan Ho Park as its model—on YouTube, surpassing 4.34 million views and becoming a hot topic among netizens. Chan Ho Park, who despite his reserved appearance talks so much that he has earned the nickname ‘Too Much Talker,’ delivered plenty of laughs to viewers. KCC is also actively engaging with customers by providing a wide range of content through its blog and Facebook.
A KCC official said, “Rather than simply exposing our brand, we newly revamped and opened our YouTube channel to deliver the information consumers need more quickly and accurately and to expand our online and mobile communication,” adding, “We plan to unveil a variety of interesting content one after another, so we ask for your keen interest in the KCC YouTube channel.”
Separately, KCC and KCC Glass ranked first in the eco-friendly paint category for the second consecutive year and in the residential flooring category for the fifth consecutive year in the ‘2020 Korea Brand Power Index (K-BPI)’ survey. In this survey, conducted by Korea Management Association Consulting (KMAC), KCC took first place in the eco-friendly paint category for the second year in a row with ‘Supuro,’ its architectural water-based paint brand. Supuro is a leading eco-friendly paint brand that minimizes the content and emission of harmful substances.
