Color-coated steel X-TONE draws attention for its functionality and ease of installation

Designs unveiled reflecting trends in the architectural interior and exterior finishing materials market

KG Steel, together with its client companies, took part in the ‘Korea Architecture Industry Fair 2023’ held at COEX from October 11 to 13, where it presented its color-coated steel ‘X-TONE,’ targeting demand in the architecture and interior markets.

KG Steel unveiled △X-TONE Mosaic △X-TONE Steel Louver △X-TONE Magnet Steel Tile at the Korea Architecture Industry Fair 2023, all developed in collaboration with its client companies Noroo Coil Coating, Byucksan, and Steel Louver Korea.

At the event, KG Steel drew visitors’ attention by introducing not only the outstanding functionality of the X-TONE color-coated steel, such as its non-combustibility and antibacterial properties, but also easy installation methods including clip-fastened attachment. In addition, KG Steel showcased designs that reflect trends in the architectural interior and exterior finishing materials market, such as steel louvers evoking a wood-grain pattern and magnet steel tiles in a square tile form.

A KG Steel official said, “X-TONE, which can realize a variety of patterns and colors, is the most suitable color-coated steel for architectural interior and exterior finishing materials, and through continuous research and development we will strengthen our own differentiated product competitiveness.”

Meanwhile, in August, KG Steel successfully completed the pilot production of its ‘X-TONE Non-cr color-coated steel’ sandwich panel products. This move advanced its response to environmental regulations by more than a year. KG Steel plans to broaden its clients’ range of product choices by swiftly bringing to market color-coated steel that preemptively meets the environmental standards set to change next year. Strontium chromate will be banned from use in paints starting early 2025. In the first half of next year, KG Steel plans to exclude chromium from all of its color-coated steel products for building materials, in addition to panels.
