LG Electronics was the only Korean company to participate in the ‘Chelsea Flower Show,’ held in London, UK from May 22 to 26, where it presented an eco-friendly garden called ‘LG Eco City.’
LG Eco City is a new concept garden that brings together cutting-edge technology and nature. LG Electronics created it together with renowned garden designer and landscape architect Hwang Hye-jung. In this garden, the company decorated the kitchen space in an environmentally friendly way, using its ultra-premium built-in ‘SIGNATURE KITCHEN SUITE’ products in collaboration with the Italian luxury kitchen furniture brand Boffi.
LG Electronics also displayed premium products in LG Eco City—including the LG SIGNATURE OLED TV, the ThinQ Speaker, and the LG PuriCare 360° Air Purifier—alongside plants that reduce air pollution, such as maple trees.
The premium LG SIGNATURE OLED TV W blended naturally with distinctively shaped companion plants renowned for their outstanding air-purifying effects, such as tillandsia, nephrolepis, and ivy, creating a stylish and sophisticated interior.
LG Electronics also showcased a lifestyle in which home appliances are controlled using advanced IT technology. Visitors experienced how easily they could control appliances—for example, by using the strategic smartphone ‘LG G7 ThinQ’ to check the air quality detected by IoT sensors and adjust the airflow of the air purifier.
In addition, LG Electronics installed ‘NeON2 Black,’ a high-efficiency solar module, and demonstrated lighting technology that harnesses solar energy for plant growth.
At the ‘Chelsea Flower Show,’ which it first participated in in 2016, LG Electronics presented the ‘LG SIGNATURE Smart Garden’ together with Hwang Hye-jung and won the Silver Gilt Medal, equivalent to second place.
