LG Electronics is targeting the North American LED lighting market, worth some 10 trillion won annually, with high-efficiency, high-performance solutions. From May 8 to 10, LG Electronics took part in ‘Lightfair International 2018 (LFI),’ held at McCormick Place in Chicago, USA, where it showcased its high-efficiency, high-performance LED lighting solutions.
LG Electronics set up a 111㎡ booth and highlighted the strengths of LG Smart Lighting, including △high efficiency and Light Performance △Easy Installation and control △an Open Eco-System that connects with other companies’ products and solutions.
The ‘Safe Blue LED Troffer’ unveiled by LG Electronics is a product used mainly in hospitals, schools, and office spaces. Its key feature is that it reduces blue light harmful to eye health by up to 60% compared with conventional LED lighting.
‘LG Sensor Connect’ is a smart lighting solution equipped with various sensors and communication modules. Customers can experience smart lighting simply through a dedicated smartphone application, without having to install a complex control system. With this solution, sensors detect external light or people’s movements and automatically adjust brightness, and users can also schedule times in advance and control the lighting using their smartphones.
Easy interoperability with other companies’ products and solutions is another strength of LG Smart Lighting. Because all devices that control LG Smart Lighting are connected via ZigBee, they work together with products and solutions that use the same communication method. In addition, if an existing conventional light is a dimmable product, it can be turned into a smart light by connecting it to LG Sensor Connect using ‘LG ZAT,’ which converts the communication method.
