LG Electronics has earned recognition for its eco-friendly, high-efficiency competitiveness in the home appliance sector.
A large number of LG Electronics home appliances were selected for the ‘2018 Korea Green Products of the Year,’ organized by the Korea Green Purchasing Network, a nonprofit civic organization. Notably, LG Electronics won awards for the ninth consecutive year since 2010, while also becoming the company that received the most awards for the second year in a row.
The Korea Green Purchasing Network selects and announces environmentally friendly products with the participation of some 20 consumer environmental organizations and around 200 general consumers, taking into account every stage of a product’s life cycle, including manufacturing, distribution, use, and disposal. The differentiated inverter technology applied to core components played a major role in LG’s home appliances being recognized for their eco-friendly, high-efficiency competitiveness.
Inverter technology allows the motor and compressor—key components of home appliances—to freely vary their operating speed. Because it enables a product to run only as much as needed for a given situation, it can enhance not only performance but also energy efficiency, establishing itself as a benchmark for premium appliances.
The CordZero A9 was selected as a Green Product of the Year while also winning the Popularity Award chosen by consumers. This product features a Smart Inverter Motor developed independently by LG Electronics, as well as a Dual Turbo Cyclone. In particular, it has established itself as a leading premium cordless stick vacuum by incorporating a wide range of customer-focused conveniences, such as a freestanding charging stand and a detachable battery.
The TROMM washing machine applies LG TROMM’s own advanced laundry technologies, including △ Direct Drive, △ ‘6 Motion,’ which reproduces hand-washing movements, and △ ‘3-way TurboShot,’ which reduces washing time while boosting washing performance.
The Dual Inverter Heat Pump TROMM dryer is the product that sparked the dryer craze in the domestic market. With two cylinders for compressing the refrigerant instead of one, it can compress a greater amount of refrigerant, delivering outstanding performance and efficiency.
